Folks.

this year, ToB stage 4 starts in Stoke on trent and finishes with a mountain finish up the Llanberis Pass.

The date is Wednesday 18th September 2013.

A few of us have suggested a ride out to cheer on the riders at the finish. Obviously a potter out to Llanberis and back is a bit far, so there are some options that anyone could take:

1. ride to Llanberis, and back! (madmen!) - 190 miles
2. Drive to Denbigh and park at the foot of the Sportsman. Ride over to Betws-y-Coed, up the pass and back. - 80 miles
3. Park at the top of the sportsman, descend into BYC, up the pass, and then back. - 50-60 miles
4. Drive to BYC, up the pass and back. - 35 miles
5. Drive to Llanberis, ride up the pass and back. - 10 miles

I don't know the ETA of the finishers yet, so the choices will be down to that. After, we could ride into Llanberis for tea and cake before riding back.

For now, please register your interest, and what sort of ride you would be interested in. I'll add more details as they become available.

My preference is 2, but this would be an 'on the day' call given the unpredictable weather.

Kris.

Number 1 sounds good 😉 I'm sure Jim Williams and Derek would agree I would say probably option 3 as timings could otherwise be a bit tight

Like the sound of this, number 2 is my preferred option.

I'm up for it. Another option could be to park at Ruthin craft centre and smash over to the top of the sportsman where the cars pull in on the corner at Llanberis

For info, Richie Heywood did Llanberris (in the town mind, not the top of the pass) in a day recently (chapeau)

Anyway, the wrinklies are watching on a flat bit, (Llay I think) followed by a bite to eat at Holt....very civilised,, I think I'll join them..anyone else ? (sound of music fans need not apply!)

Hoorah I've booked the day off work! It'll be miles better watching on a hill, otherwise we'll blink and miss them. I vote for Woody's Ruthin-Sportsman suggestion...
