This special run in memory of the late Ron Sant follows a 43 mile route along quiet country lanes and refreshments will be provided at the start/finish point of Tarporley Community Centre.

This ride replaces the usual Sunday run from Hartford and starts at Tarporley Community Centre, High St., Tarporley CW6 0AY.
There is plenty of parking to the rear of the centre if required.

The centre will be open from 0830hrs and maps of the route (the same as the 2009 route) will be available. Although I will endeavour to mark the road with temporary arrows responsibilty for navigation is down to the individual. This is not a sportive or reliability trial and riders are expected to be self reliant.

There is no entry fee but small donations during lunch would be very welcome and they will go towards the cost of refreshments and the hire of the centre.

IMPORTANT Lunch will be served from 1100hrs to 1230hrs and the centre will close at 1300hrs, bearing this in mind please choose a start time that gives you sufficient time to enjoy the ride and lunch.

Group 1 - 0830hrs start (12-14mph average speed)

Group 2 - 0845hrs start (16mph average speed)

Group 3 - 0915hrs start (19mph average speed - based on the fastest group in 2009)

organiser - Paul 07950 912XXX

It looks like there will be a group of riders from my triathlon club, the Mid-Cheshire Triathlon Club based in Winsford. They wear black and red kit, if you spot them. I am sure that they will enjoy the scenic mainly traffic-free ride, and the usual warm welcome from our friendly club!

My friend Laura, from the Mid Cheshire Tri Club wrote this on the club forum

"Wow!! That was lovely! Mostly well marked except for the bit that seemed to send most people the wrong way but hey, what's a few extra miles amongst friends!! And I felt very well looked after by Dave, Peter and Lou who escorted me home via a minor detour!! Thanks guys.

This was a lovely, friendly, mostly flat ride through beautiful countryside. Definitely to be recommended!]

Sincere thanks to Weaver Valley Cycling Club for making us feel so welcome. "

Paul

Thanks for todays run. Extremely well run, and we never got lost once, and a great turn out. Note to all next year, make sure you are in the same group as Les. He is like a human sat nav. Just finished cleaning my bike

Hi Paul,

Thank you for all your hard work - and copious quantities of tea - that made today such a big success. I am not known for my navigation skills, and inevitably, I did get lost a bit - at the same time it started to hail! I couldn't believe how much mud was on my bike when I got home, but I too have a sparkling clean bike now! It is always good to have some adventures to talk about later! The important thing was that we met up with friends, rode our bikes in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, and had a great time together!

Thanks also for finding my phone and bag!

Claire
