Looking forward to it. If I remember right, when we did it last year it was later in the year and the weather not so good. Lets home for a bit o' Sun. Still planning on doin'the same hills?
Can't make it I'm afraid. But if I could I'd probably be saving myself for the Lee Quarry MTB race on Sunday. Bet you'll do both Kev you're so keen! Bit worried about that picture of you though, bikes are for riding, not carrying, especially mountain bikes. That slope - you're supposed to go DOWN that!
Can't do Lee Quarry, 'cause I'm doin the Liverpool Triathlon (the cycling bit anyway) 🙁 I'm just hoping I get a photo of me actually riding my bike from the Hilly TT. It should be nice and sharp, 'cause he had plenty of time to get ready, and I slowed down especially 😆
Half of the outbound leg is last years return leg in reverse then we head towards the Tanat valley like last year but turn off at Penybontfawr and climb through the village of Hirnant and the forest towards Lake Vyrnwy. Same lunch stop then follow the 2009 route in reverse to Rhos-y-gwaliau, over the Milltir Gerrig and down the spectacular Tanat Valley. Then depending on the weather and how people are feeling we'll head back to Oswestry via Llansilin or Treflach, the latter being slightly easier. Doing it this way round makes the gradients of the climbs less severe than last year and riding into the Tanat Valley this way makes for a less technical descent and hopefully a better chance to enjoy the views (providing it's not mist and rain like last year).
