That didn't take long! Why am I not surprised?
😉
Hi Al,
I will get myself down in May for a Sunday run After my Altitude trip should keep up then , sounds good I just need some direction to the cafe, have been trying to do some cycling alone to get fitter and faster and can I find the cafe Mmm no 😳 (I am trying too hard and need to slow down but try telling my brain that!!! I love cycling) 😆 oh dear and its the Ron Sant in two weeks. I think I will be doing 100 miles not km.
See you soon
Les 😀
I won't be greedy and pinch all the slots, got two good routes, one east and one west. So if anyone else wants to take a long run they can have first shout. 😉
I'll help out with one of the short runs in May - might pop over to the Cloud one Sunday!
That's the spirit, just turn up and tell me where you would like to go and I'll help you get there.Even if your new to the club runs if there's somewhere you like and don't what a long run LET's DO It!
I'll have a look at some variations on short runs to see if I can get some inspiration. Quiet month in May for TTs for me!

What's this 'pop over the cloud' woody , does this involve the consumption of an illegal substance, or aeroplane? it cant mean cycling... this is the short steady [especially for fat people] run you know!

Dave Fearon said that he was going to coordinate short 'family' runs, maybe we could incorporate these is he is still up for it.. What about it Dave?
Jim W [fat man on a fast bike who is also slow!] 😉

Good call.
The Cloud is a ride I've lead previously - basically we go upto Holmes Chapel into Smallwood and then through Astbury before passing Congleton Garden Centre.
It is at this point where it is perfect for those who don't want to climb The Cloud to go to the cafe early and then the rest of us head off do the climb and then meet back later at the garden centre for our beans on toast.
Hi Jimmy,
Sorry for the late reply, but I missed your comment. I will start the family / easier pace runs soon but it's fitting it in that's the problem right now as I'm doing some pretty intensive training rides on Sundays. Yesterday I rode to Derby via Audlem, Market Drayton, Newport, Stafford, Uttoxeter and Ashbourne. 96.5 miles in 4:59:25 non-stop apart from a quick garage stop for more energy drink at 50 miles, 19.3 mph average so a nice steady pace.
A bit heavy going on some of the hilly bits from 50 miles onwards on 82" fixed especially after riding the 25 the day before. I've been doing this sort of thing for several weeks now and can't wait for the Anfield 100. I was pretty chuffed with my time estimation as I had never ridden the last 50 miles of the route and I had no map so memorised it the night before. I told Caroline I would take 5 hours as she was meeting me at Jack's diggs in Derby at 2 pm so we could go for a walk down Dovedale. I arrived 35 seconds early! 🙂
I have the same routine for the next two weeks so maybe I can do a steady ride after that. I'll sort out my diary and get a few rides on the calendar.
Cheers
Dave
