Well, there were 3 [insired, courageous, brave, stupid, insane] [* delete as appropriate] of us at the Legion yesterday
Craig Darrell, Steve [sorry dont know your 2nd name] and me. eventually we all decided to do our own thing. Steve said he was going home, as did I, although when I got through Whitegate, I carried on to Waverton before turning back for home -
Craig said he was going up through Norley over Overton Hill and the through Kelsall to home..

My ride, well, at the end I kept telling myself that I would feel the benefit going to Llanberis...but it was a stretch!

I got 4 quality hours in the gym, and was goosed at the end. Had I gone out, I wouldn't have got anywhere near the workout I achieved.

Just not worth the risk IMHO, even if its mostly OK.

And I am fed up with cleaning bikes right now. they are all gleaming and will remain that way till Llanberis. Apart form the MTB that is, which is my workhorse for the next week at least.

I did a 2h 30m tempo ride on Sunday; Pennys Lane, A50, Holmes Chapel, Congleton, A34, Monks Heath, Chelford, Knutsford, Northwich by pass, Hartford, home and it was cold but the main roads were not slippy at all. Caroline was also out doing a tempo ride and she ventured on to some of the lanes around Arley at one point and they too were not slippy. We gave the club run a miss as I didn't fancy riding in a group on potentially slippy back lanes as you can't see the icy patches and your chances of coming off increase when you're in the middle of a group on icy roads.

I can see the benfits of 3 wheels when the weather is like this, especially recumbent trikes as the centre of gravity is low. Trouble is they cost a bomb, take up loads of space and I'd only use it half a dozen times per year ....... know what I mean Phil! 😉
