I'm racing in Shropshire again, so wont be able to make it. Sounds like a lot of fun though.
Well done for organising this Titch. I hope it's a big success!
You should do another one later in the year, during hill climb season!
shame you can't make it kris although I'm sure some people will be relieved as it will give them a chance 😉
There's a lot of people going well so it could really come down to the wire, which will be brilliant.
not sure I would be able to as I'm sure that macc wheelers or someone else does one up there so couldn't hold it as an official HC but I'll see how well this one goes and take a view to see how well received it is.
thanks for the support and good luck in the rest of your season.
"Tour of Flounders"...

Not long now until the Cobble Wobble. I have knocked together a small poster for visual reference.
if everyone could arrive on time as we will be having sign on at the legion and you will collect your number, and you can either carry it in your pocket or pin it on there and then.
the event will have a friendly atmosphere and all are welcome.
numbers will be put on hand/arm in marker pen rather than pinned to jersey's, you will need to shout out your number as you go passed the time keeper at the finish line. ( should be Al Silver)
A brilliant sunny day welcomed around 30-40 riders at the legion which was split into 2 groups, 19 of which signed on to take on the killer cobbled climb up Beeston Brow. we set off on time heading from hartford to take to the bypass footpath which is looking a little worse for wear. from there we headed to Goostrey then onto Lower Withington and that's where my knowledge of towns and villages ends. just after lower withington there was a few that needed a natural break, this left many others including my-self confused but with a regroup at the top we were all back together and an uneventful jaunt through some rolling countryside until we got to a series of 'roundabouts' (little splash's of paint) where a car hesitated numerous times which unfortunately lead to Fiona coming down and another rider colliding with her (sorry can't remember your name). A few running repairs and we thought it was all over until we were informed that Simon had broken a spoke and had rendered his wheel VERY buckled, so with a few more running repairs and simon's spoke neatly tucked in between 2 others we set off hoping there would be no other set backs.
When we arrived at the climb in Bollington there was an awful lot of cyclists but quite a few locals who informed us that it was the Bollington fun run, and you guessed it. The runners were coming down the very hill we wanted to go up! Graham quickly thought of using the brick works instead and we quickly set about getting there and getting things underway. With Graham comfortably at the finish (where ever he decided) first man was off which was Jim Duffy followed by 18 others. The winner on the day was Tim Rutherford who recorded an awesome time of 7m.11s the first lady was Penny Thorn with a cracking time of 9m24s and the first and only junior was Jacob Booth who recorded a time of 7m50s and 2nd overall.
The journey back after the cafe was quite sedate until Lower Withington and Goostrey where the pace went up. with the pace already high my-self and jacob had a little sprint to a sign which I must say was one of the longest sprints I have ever experienced or seen. All in all a great day out and I hope to see you all next year where we will hopefully be able to use the designated climb which I'm sure some are already looking forward to. I must also add a massive thanks to Graham and Alan who both made it possible
