Great turn out today everyone 38 on the road over the three groups I think Paul / Conner Andy & Steve enjoyed the ride & I know Steve did but maybe not tomorrow great effort for your first 50mile 'er mate. Thanks to the other group for looking after Paul/Conner & Andy the look on their faces after the sprint finish to the cafe was a picture (that's what we get up to!).
Also a mention to Shelagh & Les good rides though you've not been out for a while, Chris your encouragement to Steve was much appriciated while I'll lead us out to the cafe .
Great day, all kept it together and all arrived there & home Safe
Thanks
Leader Al 😀
We had a great ride to the mills via bangor on dee, about 12/13 left Hartford, but we seemed to drop many on the way and finished with 6 arriving at the mills, Jules, Alan, Kev C, Tony, Boonie and myself. We picked up Mike Gerrard (again), Ewart (again) & Denis at the mills.
I finished with 81miles on the http://connect.garmin.com/activity/279790359
Thanks Jules for leading, thanks to everyone for the company , we set quite a pace at times and I felt really strong throughout, obviously the turbo session have been paying off. 😀
Al
I had a brilliant day today and I must engage with the club runs more!! Swimming two miles before starting today was maybe a little silly haha and my legs are feeling it. We have such a brilliant club with fantastic members and support when you are feeling a little tired 😀
Thanks all great great day
Me too. Thanks Al and all for a great ride. I have come home with a new mantra........work less, play more!
So, best see you next Sunday then 😉
As I'm now Alan's personal carer, I thought I'd bring it to the club's attention, to raise 'awareness' of an issue among cyclists, of which some of us may be afflicted, but are too embarrassed to talk about.
If you know of someone who suffers from this, please speak to them, help them, and wherever you can, encourage them to admit their addiction. Without admitting that you have a problem, you'll never be able to deal with it.
For cyclists who are 'Cakeaholics', heed this warning, from a man who is a shadow of his former self, but who has come to terms with his addiction, and today (I'm very proud to say), was only witnessed having one piece of cake, after asking my permission. One day at a time Al.. one day at a time..

Thank you for reading.
I'm saying nothing about Graham 'two fruit cakes' or Andy 'a plate full of sausages with me beans'.... 🙄
Haha very good Ady 🙂 and Caroline I am still laughing about our conversation going down the cycle track to the mills very very funny. If you have any free time which I know you are busy I need to get use to this new bike and I am struggling, would love to get out with you if I can. Give me a shout if you have any free time and want a laugh haha
