Hi all,

Twemlow Lane is one of the key roads used for time trialling in Cheshire. More and more our beautiful country lanes are being developed and this is leading to traffic lights all over the place which are a pain for cyclist generally but particularly for time trialling as they are killing the sport by cutting off large areas on potential racing roads. 20 years ago we raced along the Northwich by-pass and now there are 4 sets of lights along that route, for example.

Please see below details of a plan for a new waste plant at Twemlow Green which is just criminal in my opinion as this open country side and it's a tiny little village. As part of this development it is proposed to install lights on the railway bridge on Twemlow Lane. This would destroy the Knutsford / Cranage / Twemlow / Chelford circuit that practically every Cheshire course now uses and would effectively end our sport in this part of Cheshire.

If you could object to this it would help us to try and prevent this from happening. Thanks for your help with this.

Dave

Thank you for getting in touch, we greatly welcome your support.

To recap !.......

Firstly you could help by writing/emailing to Cheshire East Council to object - and encourage as many others as possible to do so, individual comments count for more. Their planning page states that it is too late for comments but this is a technical hitch that they cannot remove apparently and they are happy to receive comments right up until the committee meet (no date is set yet).

Copies of objection emails could also be sent to the relevant county councillors and parish councils - so that they can see the knock on effects that such a proposal (that parish councils are currently supporting !) would bring.

All the info should be on our website http://www.tagnotowasteplant.wordpress.com and by putting your email address in the 'follow' box you will receive automatic emails when we post updates.

We also have a Facebook page too which people could 'like' or 'share' or place comments on to help spread the word.

Object to 12/0705W to planning@cheshireeast.gov.uk,

copies to Andrew.Kolker@cheshireeast.gov.uk, Cllr.Les.Gilbert@cheshireeast.gov.uk, Fiona.bruce.mp@parliament.uk

and the local parish councils: Goostrey parishcouncil@goostrey.fslife.co.uk,

and Twemlow MasJl2@aol.com,

Do keep in touch

kind regards

Janet
