We're back! The Cheshire Classic 2014 campaign launched yesterday. The race will take place on Sunday 27th April so please put it in your diaries as we will need as much help as we can.

For those of you that don't know, Weaver Valley CC have promoted the Cheshire Classic Women's Road Race since the early 1980s. It is a British Cycling National Series race which sees the UK's top riders visit us for the weekend. Terry Veal did a tremendous job with the race which I've since inherited and it is seen as the most prestigious race on the national calendar with previous winners including Lizzie Armitstead, Nicole Cooke, Lucy Garner, Dame Sarah Storey and Mandy Jones.

2014 will see an extended race distance by two laps (on rider feedback), an intermediate sprint midway in the race and we're also proud to announce a new sponsor in Taylor Wimpey alongside Delamere Dairy, Epic Cycles, de Vere Venues and Your Sports Therapist. I'm hoping to secure one or two more so if you are interested in supporting the race please get in touch.
