With the thought of not being out on Sunday due to a much needed night out on town, I thought I would venture out on the Saturday training run.

Marshalled by Jules it is a run to The Mills and back leaving from Kingfisher in Kingsmead at 9.30 and Hanging Gate, Weaverham 9.45. Today’s route headed out through Acton Bridge, Delamere Forest, Bridge Trafford, Picton and Capenhurst however it has been known to head down to Bangor-On-Dee en-route during the Winter months (that’s around 60 miles before getting to the cafe).

The way back went along the riverside where the group did a session of through and off, stopping off in Chester for a quick ice cream before heading home through Waverton and Tarvin.

A word of warning to the wise. It’s fast. You’ll be covering around 60-70 miles and not seeing much under 20mph on your speedo for the majority of it. Today’s group included Jon Conboy, Kev Campbell, Tim, Titch & Max so not people that hang around either! By the time Delamere Forest came along my legs were going and when I rolled into Northwich I was on last legs.

I know Julesy wants to keep this going, especially now the off-season is approaching so if you’re up for it, it’s a very satisfying, tough day out on the bike!
