A Great weekend for Weaver Valley CC
Where – Pimbo When – Sunday Who rode – Laura Gray, Emily Martin, John Keen and myself yours truly Tony
Weather conditions – Hot and sunny again!
Yes on Sunday at Pimbodrome! Weaver Valley had another great turnout! and in the Women’s cat 3/4 (38 miles) road race, The stand out performance of the day was the ride by Laura Gray who came across the finish line in 1st position. Little did John keen and myself realise that after cheering them both off! after the first two laps, then leaving for home! that we would have a Weaver valley winner by the end of the day. Emily Martin who had a great TT ride on the Saturday finishing 1st along with (Lynsey Astles who came in first in handicap) came in at 17th in the road race. total riders 18
In the Men’s cat 3/4 road race (46miles) It was won by Thomas Warren of Croston velo. I really have to take my hat off to John Keen, who really puts a lot of hard work in on the front and am sure all this hard work will pay off pretty soon! I was predictably at the back again finding my legs in my 3rd race of the year but felt much better today! John improved up on last week to 40th and my self to 32th. so small improvements. total riders 59
I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of Weaver valley CC to thank the organisers, of Croston Velo, Marshals, Bike Marshals, signing on girls and any one else who I may have missed on a great day of racing.
So the Weaver Valley ladies are putting us men to shame? Question is can we do anything about it? maybe we need some old boys back Who seem to be doing some great racing at the moment Mike twelves and Jason Roberts – for people who remember them?
Tony
