A fabulous sunny spring day saw four of us set out on the superb Penmachno trail. This was Tim former WVCC’s Anne on loop 2 (which we did first). Anne and Ann carried on  together while Tim and I rode both loops before lunch back at the Conway Falls cafe. The conditions were pretty good most of the way, but patches of snow and frozen slush made the going interesting and gruelling in places. There are lots of brilliant singletrack sections with some very fast descents which we really enjoyed. After mending 2 punctures over poached eggs on toast we all rode over to Betws y Coed on the back roads where Tim and I headed for the Marin trail.

This is getting really quite rocky now and lots of climbing for our now tired legs to cope with. But the views were fantastic, Snowdon and Tryfan in the background of this picture. A cracking day out and good warm up for the Lake District next weekend!
