Eight of us made it out for a ride from Hartford rather than the planned Macc Forest due to the snow. It turned out to be extremely hard going in the semi-frozen slushy snow, but good fun nonetheless and a warm sunny day.

Up through Davenham then along the tracks to Moulton before descending towards the Weaver and Winsford.

From there on to the Whitegate Way which was very tough going, slightly easier on the singletrack sections, but it was all we could do to keep up with a couple of joggers. Andrew and Steve headed home while the rest of us made it to lunch of sandwiches and beer at the Forest View pub, which might be a record for the closest lunch stop to Northwich ever for a club ride.  But it had taken nearly 3 hours, so Matt, Derek, El & Kev headed back while Tim & I struggled around Delamere Forest and up Pale Heights. Good company and excellent banter, and just about 5 hours’ worth of Llanberis training by the time I got home.
