On the 17th November I completed the Holt Perm 200km Audax in the company of Derek [long distance] Heine.
This was my longest ride for over 25 years.
A ride out from Hartford, [with an interesting scramble over two crashed cars and a totally blocked road at Whitegate] to Holt, the morning drizzle gave way to welcome brighter skies [I even caught the winter sun on my face!]
A tailwind run for breakfast at Market Drayton via Malpas followed.
Then back to Tattenhall into a light breeze, another control, then off to Middlewich via Beeston, after Middlewich lights went on [my improvised front light was wholey inadeqaute, but Derek had a bonza twin headlight on, so we were OK] then off to Wilmslow via Chelford for the final turn , dry hats and waterproof jackets on to keep off the evening chill ,then homeward bound.
We passed 200km at Davenham.
In English I did 128 miles at 14mph, 10:53 total time, 9:38 riding time .

A great day out.. Thanks Derek for steering me around the route,[I would only have made it to Holt on my own!] the sense of acheivement is still immense and I am now looking to the next one, [Llanberis…bring it on!]
