Description

A straight forward winter event aimed at experienced randonneurs who just can’t wait to get out and ride a 200km in January! Essentially the Rain, Shine of Gale Force 9 course ridden the other direction.
The route is specifically designed to offer an event in early January when the weather could be an issue. The route purposely stays away from lanes and the high ground. The route purposely joins together long sections on B roads which should be well maintained, and in the case of cold weather, gritted if required (although never guaranteed of course). 80% of the route is on B roads with approx 20% on A roads (no dual carriageways). This should help riders get around quickly reducing the time out in potentially poor weather and makes for straightforward navigation. An X Rated type event with postal finish. Starts from a McDonalds, three evenly spaced commercial controls and three easy info questions, E-Brevet option available.
