This is the planned long run for this Sunday.

New coffee shop, Policini Coffee Shop in Romiley, Stockport.
http://www.brytonsport.com/mapTrackView/3?id=1780023
38.75 Miles, 2500ft climbing.

Route:
Goostrey, Lower Withington, Chelford, Prestbury, Bollington, Pott Shrigley, (Lyme Park), Disley, Marple, Romiley.

Return:

The Coffee shop:

Depending on the weather, I may be going out on my own training run, heading off earlier (8-9 am) to get some more miles in, and I will meet you at the café @~12.30pm, and come back with the group.

So if someone can step up and be backup run leader (someone with GPS), that would be great.

Garmin's are better anyway Jim 😉

Had a Twitter chat with the cafe yesterday. They have another club going next Sunday and may not be able to fit us in. I'll ring them later in the week to check.
Looks like it going to get cold over the weekend with minus 5 at night.

For anyone interested, and if the weather is good, my route will take in edale and snake pass on the way to the cafe. V hilly.

That will be a no 😯

With the weather forecast maybe best to avoid the hills. Will decide on Sunday and change if required.

cracking route Kris.

There are also some nasty descents, especially around Castleton/ Mam Nik, be careful. They are not well used roads so may be greasy. Any sign of Frost on Sunday watch out for the shadows and under trees.

Kris
done a few rides round there and yes descents this time of year can be bad. If you need a quick cafe stop there's one near Edale station ( very short dist off route - take left for station and its on the left just before station) or Woodbine Cafe in Hope - when you come out of Edale into Hope (church facing you) take a right instead of left and its about 50 yards on the right.
Both cyclist friendly cafs
hope this helps and have a good ride

Carol if you want similar ride next spring take a look at these audax rides, both start and finish in Winsford and do a similar route out to Edale and then come back through the Peaks via Hartington

100 miler http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/13-951/
120 miler http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/13-950/

The longer one adds a loop at the end out to the ice cream farm.

Just confirmed with cafe that they can fit us in 🙂

May need a back up route to the cafe if roads are bad. Can you plan a different route from Bollington Kris?

I may not be able to make it this Sunday 🙁 , may have to go and see my mum for her birthday. Hopefully tie it in with a ride as well though.

Best if there could be a further back up. I know tony has the garmin 800 as well
