Blog by Kev about today's club run on http://wvcccycleblog-runs.blogspot.com/2011/05/then-there-was-one-blog-by-kev.html
Sounds like hard work! How did the rest of you get on?

Excellent blog! Had me giggling! Change the routing setup on your 800 Kev, the auto re-route calculation is lethal, you'll be fine!

The short run today was good, but I'm really getting fed-up of the windy conditions out there, in fact, after starting out from home in the rain, I thought I'd only stay out for a couple of hours today, thinking that I'd quickly tire of said conditions.

Anyhoo, a good pack of us started out, and almost made it to Davenham when Jimmy Williams suffered a puncture (along with another), and shortly afterwards Alan tried to take out a squirrel with his front wheel.

From there we rode in and out of the headwind and picked up some nice tailwind sections here and there. We all largely stayed together, and had another stop about 10 miles from the cafe, when Jim, unfortunately, got another puncture(!)

A good pace for the last few miles saw us at the cafe, where we suitably re-fuelled, and Max got chatted up.

A reasonable pace on the way back, and Alan tried his best to find as sheltered a route back as possible.

For me, something over 66 miles for the day, and I can feel my legs for the work into the headwind sections now.

As per usual, Alan's excellent GPS-less leadership saw us safely both ways!!

Record of the run here.
