Bit of an off road story from me! In a change to the norm, today I headed out with Becky along with Pete & new ride Millie to Kelsall Hill for a spot of off-roading! That's right, I dusted off the Carrera Kraken mountain bike! It's a stunning cross country course, where they hold two Horse Trials every year. It's a undulating 5 mile course, on grass and some sand (so good 'cross practice).
Anyway needless to say I got bogged down in sand twice, as im hopeless with gearing off road and nearly fell off once through the forest as I have rubbish confidence but it was good fun.
Anyway I tried my hardest but I got my ass truely kicked by both Pete & Millie, I held on for a while but racing their canter is incredible. Great experience to do it side by side.
There's a race in South Wales between bikes, horses and fell runners so you should give it a try. The horses have won every time apart from once when a top mountain biker won by a nose. He must have had a very long nose! 😀
Lol! Will look into that though, sounds fun!
