Another small entry for the club 10 last night.  Please make an effort to turn up for the Final Fling next Wednesday as it’s your last opportunity to ride a club 10 this season plus this year it counts towards the points due to an earlier round being cancelled due to road works.  Whether you’re in to racing or not the 10’s are a great way to get into shape as putting a number on your back somehow inspires you to try harder and you really feel the benefits later when you are riding more sociably.

The 10 riders who started took advantage of the better than usual conditions as times were generally quicker across the board.  Our rising star Andy Milligan did a PB in his second ever 10 so he has 3 PB’s out of 3 rides so far in his short racing career.  His outstanding time of 23:32 gave him the win on the night, just narrowly beating visitor Thomas Carding of team NLTCBMBC (catchy name) who is up from the smoke visiting his parents in Weaverham.  He rode 98″ fixed and stuffed me into third place with a 24:02, also on 98″ fixed.  I did get stopped by a horse box and I have a cold and I haven’t been training and it was my wedding anniversary so my mind was elsewhere thinking of my beautiful bride, etc……. but no excuses, the best man did the ride on the night.

Continuing with the theme of close finishing times Benn & Tony came within 13 seconds of each other in 4th & 5th places and only 3 seconds separated Steve, Dan & Paul in the next 3 slots.  Geoff put in another good ride with a 28:36 and last but my no means least was young Nathan Hariston of Winsford CC who was chuffed to beat evens (20 mph) for his first ever time trial, recording an excellent 29:45.

See you all next week and the announcement of the season long points competitions will take place after the event at the Crown in Lower Peover
