I’ll need mine looking at Jim, think the high octane gas canister you fitted into the rear hub has run out. How much is a full service roughly?Andy WoodParticipant4 January 2015 at 20:31Post count: 1066
Nice report El. 20 riders who felt the bitter chill to arrive at the clubhouse to warmth of their comrades. I lead the short run to the Mills, again following Jim up through Kingsley to Frodsham, the roads shiny with frozen puddles to the edge of the road as mentioned by Eleanor but we kept it steady and safe. The climb in and out of Frodsham was most welcome to warm us up, much shaking of hands and feet was being done to waken the senses.
Seemingly every club in the area had the same idea as us. I’ve never seen the Mills so busy. Some exchanges of banter later & having been joined by Iain Young, who experienced a mechanical on the way to the club, we ventured home. The beautiful winter sun much welcomed. Subsequently we all got our arse kicked through Delamere by Iain & we got home with just shy of 60 on the clock. Cheers to Ady for helping out two newbies home.Andy WoodParticipant30 November 2014 at 21:26Post count: 1066Andy WoodParticipant30 November 2014 at 21:26Post count: 1066Andy WoodParticipant9 November 2014 at 21:07Post count: 1066Andy WoodParticipant9 November 2014 at 20:31Post count: 1066
Well the short run may have just beaten the long run for miles for the first time!
Ady hatched a plan to include some hills as part of early Llanberis training, I guess we have 3 months for those efforts to settle in the legs.
We headed through Kingsley to Overton Hill. We went up the side part first from Kingsley before heading back down to Frodsham & up around the other side through the village, taking in the 16% hit to the hotel. Up to the top of Overton where we stopped for Steve to repair a puncture. He left shortly after due to half his gears not working.
We ventured around to Mouldsworth, down to the edge of the forest & then up to the Yeld.
It was at this point that I think Vince said what many of us were thinking “erm Ady we are still going to the Mills aren’t we?”. We were. We went around the back of Frodsham to Tarvin, across to Barrow & then to the Mills via Chester Zoo arriving with 40+ on the clock.
We headed straight back from the Mills at a brisk pace, joined by Keith. It got tasty through the forest where many who were looking forward to the replay of the Performance of the Year nominated race between Wood & Booth were to not be disappointed. It wasn’t to be for Wood this time however, a big surprise attack by Booth saw him take the sign. Keith, Vince, Terry & Ewart took pace through the forest.
A good day out on the bike, top route from Ady, gorgeous weather & great to see everyone sticking together. Great riding.Andy WoodParticipant7 November 2014 at 22:11Post count: 1066Andy WoodParticipant7 November 2014 at 22:07Post count: 1066Andy WoodParticipant6 November 2014 at 19:33Post count: 1066Andy WoodParticipant29 October 2014 at 19:31Post count: 1066Andy WoodParticipant22 October 2014 at 21:51Post count: 1066Andy WoodParticipant22 October 2014 at 21:49Post count: 1066Andy WoodParticipant22 October 2014 at 21:02Post count: 1066
