Checked out me diary to see if am racing, working or getting drunk that weekend and am not! Which is quite surprising! So Could you put me down for marshalling duties mate. I did hanging gate last year with Kevin Campbell John Conboy and a few others Cheers tonyTonyBParticipant23 March 2015 at 21:25Post count: 56
Sounds like you had a bit of fun in that race Alan, but obviously you’ve not lost any racing form from
Last season! Great result! to go with a good report! And no doubt a long day for you!
Bet you had a few cans or a nice glass of vino when you got home?

Just to add to this little debate (diplomatically) to be honest if I had a bike business I would do the same! am sure everyone loves a great offer or deal in the club, but I see there’s abit of frustration out there! so may I suggest that we either
1) Have a link page to Dave Hinde with all the up to date WVCC offers!
2) We have a extra sub menu item on WVCC web site ie:- For Sale, Wanted, plus Offers. Note: – Offers would be weekly or monthly, parameters/rules pre agreed and if offers are restricted to local bike shops only.
3) keep the status quo
4) no advertising of offers full stop.
I myself would go for any of the top two!
Obviously this would be a decision made by the the WVCC committee!

Obsolutely fantastic and well done Lee! New you could do it! especially on looking back! going out on some winter training rides with you last winter only confirmed it! the one coming back from the roundabout at Vicars cross Chester and down the bypass towards the delamere turning comes to mind! “Lee had his trusted winter bike with panniers on the back, packed full of books! We were both doing about 30mph then suddenly Lee put his foot down and left me eating dirt! he must of been touching 40mph and the face on this little kid in the back of this car, Lee was catching, was a picture! Open mouthed! and probably thinking “daddy better put his foot down soon!” Anyway Lee being a gentleman that he is! let off the pace and let me catch him back up!
True Talent always shines through mate compared to us mere mortals.
Great ride again!
Ps Great write up Dave.TonyBParticipant5 October 2014 at 19:23Post count: 56TonyBParticipant19 August 2014 at 17:43Post count: 56TonyBParticipant1 June 2014 at 15:28Post count: 56
I wish! it’s a mistake! CDNW have now been informed! I did finish the course but I had a major mechanical in the neutralised zone at the bottom of the first steep hill chain came off and couldn’t get it back on so i had to stop and sort it out! I was way off the bunch by this time about (400 yards) but kept going and passed some stragglers on the way! I actually finished 42 out of 60 on a very hot tough day at bole hill.
Ps congratulations to Giles Bett he actually came a credible 12th
You might want to change the heading woody but cheers anyway (one day may be! With no excuses!)

In today’s races at Pimbo the weather was not to kind with strong winds on parts of the course and rain which made the roads slippy in places! Of the results of which I know of? in the women’s race 2/3/4 Jennifer Edwards of Team 22 came 1st past the post with Gina Riley of Chester RC 2nd and Amy Gornall of RST Racing Team coming in 3rd. Penny Thorn Weaver Valley CC lost contact with part of the main bunch due to cross winds on the sprint lap 5 of 18 but came in with the rest of the peloton to finish, for what was considering Pennys first race! was a great achievement considering the weather conditions.
For my race The mens 3/4 Hamish Fletcher-Cooney of Lancaster University Cycling Club came first! The 80 riders in my race had much of the same weather conditions we had the usual cat and mouse stuff then on the final lap there was a crash of which I just managed to avoid at near on 35mph in the finishing straight I got myself boxed in near the front and could not push out! (totally my fault badly positioned!) ultimately I raced to the line and hopefully with a top 25 finish.
Ps. Great to see Woody and Jules supporting
