Thanks for all the feedback. The good news is the creaking has now gone.

Jules – I did as you suggested and greased all parts of the seat pin and re-tightened the fixings for the saddle.

In addition I found a loose fixing that connects the seat stay to the rear drop-out. I discovered it by accident when I hooked my bike up to my turbo trainer and there was a lot of lateral play in the rear wheel. A bit worrying really but sorted now.

Took the bike out tonight and gave it some hammer and the only thing I can hear is the tyres on the road.

    Cheers,

    John

    Cheers guys,

Bottom bracket is tight and chainset. The saddle was actually creaking when I pushed down on it so I tightened everything up and greased it. Then it rained so I haven’t had chance to check it but the creaking when I push down has stopped.

I don’t think it does creak when I’m out of the saddle. By seatpin do you mean the seatpost or something specific about the seat/saddle?

I am going to have to give tomorrow a miss. I had the day booked off but a big project I’m involved in has made other plans. Gutted!

Have a good day everyone. I hope the weather is a lot better than today’s. I’ll watch the highlights and look out for you guys on TV.

I’m up for this. I’ve the day off work so it would be a great way to spend it. Are we meeting at the legion?

Cheers Ady but it looks like that only works if you have a Garmin to send it to. I want to upload it to SportsTracker.

    Not to worry.

Not sure what happened with the email address (the DOTs were deliberate but the /b etc wasn’t). I will try again:

Has anyone got a .gpx file of today’s long run to Loggerheads?

Any chance you could send it to me? Email address john(DOT)keegan[/b]@homecall(DOT)co(DOT)uk

    It would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers guys. It’s not my first run I’ve done a few now and was out last weekend on the run to Two Mills (I was the guy who punctured near Delamere).

I’ll sleep on it and decide in the morning – probably at the point I open the curtains and see it tipping it down.

Great road run today. Really enjoyed getting back out with the club. Thanks to those who helped with the puncture (2nd time in 3 club runs!). Time to get my bomb-proof Gatorskins fitted I think.

    Adrian,

Is that back to Runcorn after first returning to Northwich or do you head straight back to Runcorn from 2 mills?
