I announce that I am bidding to win this prestigious event in 2016
as the rules have changed, I have the TREX factory specially preparing a bike that will be state of the art, sleek and slippery, aerodynamic, and green..[and not a powered back wheel in sight..]
I think all bikes in future should be scrutinised by a UCI commissarie, ensuring the meet the max weight limit, [no bricks allowed in saddle bags] checking for power assistance, [no eating of beans for 48 hrs prior to the event] and random [in and out of competition] drugs testing of riders..[no sanatogen allowed for the over 50’s]
the last thing this sport needs is for the winner of the WVCC Downhill to be stripped of his title, only to admit all months later to Jeremy Kyle on live TV
😆 😆 😆
Well done Jamie.. It’s about time there was a new name on the trophy.. but watch out, John’s really Keen to get it back!JimWParticipant30 December 2014 at 19:25Post count: 328JimWParticipant23 December 2014 at 12:04Post count: 328
Anne Gregory and I attended a meeting in October with the Mornant chair of the twinning committee, Mornant Deputy Mayor and a contingent of interested local [Northwich Area] parties..
Basically, the dates can be flexible, although the English week that they are planning will be on the dates in Ady’s post, planning to finish with the Mornant celebrations for Bastille Day, which I am sure will be a very colourful and joyous occasion and a chance to witness real country festivities. Accommodation for this period can be provided.
If there is enough interest as Ady has suggested, it would be great to combine this trip with a camping trip to see the Iconic climb of Alp D’Huez on the 25th July, the penultimate stage of the TdF and a day when the Tour maybe won or lost.
The tour is in the area for a few days before, and a drive out followed by the last few KM on the bike to see the Tour in France would be a fantastic repeat of the Grand depart in Yorkshire 2014. [I’m sure if you ask anyone who camped they will tell you what a fantastic time we had]JimWParticipant11 December 2014 at 22:19Post count: 328JimWParticipant8 December 2014 at 09:48Post count: 328JimWParticipant17 October 2014 at 10:12Post count: 328JimWParticipant16 October 2014 at 07:30Post count: 328JimWParticipant29 September 2014 at 19:18Post count: 328
Syd had a further reaction to his sting [facial swelling] which necessitated another trip to A&E in the small hours of Monday morning, more drugs and observation. 😮
A timely warning to us all, we have to beware of the effects of ‘critters’ getting their own back!
Syd seems to be improved although the Dr has advised that it will take time to get over the effects.
Get well soon man…we need you on the front on Wednesdays 😉JimWParticipant29 September 2014 at 11:13Post count: 328JimWParticipant28 September 2014 at 20:40Post count: 328
