Derek all the very best from Kevan and me too. We were appalled to hear what happened – there seem to be some idiots out there. We wish you all the very best and just wanted you to know we’re thinking of you. I just wish the England team were doing a bit better so you at least had some decent football to watch!

Thanks Terry for a great race – and everyone who helped in so many ways – it was such good fun – I’m still buzzing! I don’t think I’ve ever ridden so fast for so long- the pace was relentless, there just wasn’t any let up at all. Ironically I was expecting the hill to be the hard bit and actually the girls all took that bit fairly steady – but then they hammered it over the top. It was brilliant to see friendly WVCC faces at every corner. If you’re interested I’ve written my own report – a sort of tail ender’s view I suppose – on the cycleblog
