The Beginners Rides have gone really well recently the last two rides we had 8 & 7 respectively new comers (Not counting Gina) who is now a regular club rider . The new comers I’ve seem have gained confidence with each ride even on their first ride their abilities to ride in a group I felt relaxed and have no need to explain our safety aspects of club riding etc. This weekend saw us ride out through Whitegate up Cinder Hill towards Oulton Park, where we encountered a large number of Lotus drivers on the back lanes heading for the park’s track day, all the group coped well with the traffic on through Eaton, Tilston then to a cafe the Club has never visited before “Tilly’s in Bunbury”. Great cafe full of cyclist lots of room and great service (loads of cafe!). Then the route home Derek took the lead back towards Tattenhall ,Tarpoley then the original route back home ,considering we only planned a 30m run most of the group completed 40m+ without realising they’d rode that far (that’s difference of group/club riding). Thanks to Derek, Gina, Paddy Shelegh for your help and big thanks to Lynn, Alex, Mike and Alan for making it a great day out ,Looking to plan another ride 27th September possibly the last one before winter but if interest is shown maybe into late Autumn.
