The course HQ is Wincham Community Centre as usual, and the race starts at 10, with the HQ opening at 8.30, and marshals asked to arrive at 9.

Our club is renowned throughout the region for the races we promote, and these depend entirely on the support of members to marshal. You are always brilliant at signing up for this one, and this year we'll need more of you than ever because of the longer lap.

As it is an AGM, then all club members are invited to come along as we discuss club matters, elect officials and hear proposals.

On the note of proposals, if you wish to bring forward any proposals, then please do so, before Tuesday 1st September, in order that the committee can discuss them and document them for the AGM. You can do this by contacting any of the committee members, or just by emailing me at ady@weavervalleycc.org.uk.

The AGM typically runs for an hour or so on the evening, and afterwards there will be free buffet for anyone who attends. The bar will also be open (but will not be free - just saying!)

So if you want to see what your club is about, this is a good night to do it. For those who are generally late in paying (you know who you are!!), please make a note that the club doesn't receive funding from any other sources other than club subs and the events we run. Most events don't make any money or run at a slight loss to keep entry fees accessible for all, and to promote cycling as far as possible.

We are a busy club, and depend upon the goodness of volunteers, who dedicate their time and money to making sure the club keeps going, is friendly and open to all-comers, and keeps it's excellent name locally (and we are a really well-thought of club).

We hold races, time trials, a hill climb and cyclo-cross events, as well as the club dinner and the Llanberis weekend at affordable prices for all, and keep the marshals bibs, flags, stopwatches, radios and trophies in good order for whatever we organise.

Paying your subs has never been easier, and you can pay directly via internet banking, or by filling out a simple form for your bank, as well as paying by cheque or cash. There is really no excuse for not paying the small £15 subscription to be part of the club.

On a more serious note, you also need to be a paid up club member if you are racing under the club name of Weaver Valley CC.

For new members, all you need to know is that it is the perfect time of year to join WVCC, and when you pay, you'll be bang up to date - so welcome to the club!!
