WVCC Club 10s – Guardian Cup Round 6 – 29th June 2016

After a rainy day, it looks like the few riders that took to the course picked a break in an otherwise wet and windy day.

Some times meant big things this evening though, as Dave Fearon romped ahead to clinch the fastest time of the evening, followed by a pre-washed Jim from the Mersey Ferry ride earlier in the day, and Colin bringing in a solid 3rd position.

In the Guardian Cup stakes, for the 2nd week, Dave Wilkinson scored big, giving him maximum points for the evening, and a new PB. Rich Munro and Caroline Fearon also PB’d this week, and brought home an equal 24 points each.

So, what difference has it made this week? Well, Dave Wilkinson has now romped ahead in the overall points table, with a tally of 113 points across 5 rides, Jim Williams in 2nd place, some 26 points adrift of top spot. The race isn’t over yet though, as there is a maximum of 125 points on offer for the series if you have top scores in each round, meaning that late season improvements will pay big for the contenders near (and not so near), the top spot. Patrick Lucas, Ric Munro and Jo Blakeley all have big scores in their grasp with improvements in time over the coming weeks (or indeed the least loss of any given week!).
