Great idea to go for a ride in the snow Kevin! Four of us enjoyed a superb ride with no mishaps or falls. This was the zig-zag route up Pale Heights. We kept off the roads as much as possible. A quick coffee at Delamere then lunch at Summertrees.
Lots of the usual tracks and trails but the snow certainly gives them a completely new character. Apart from the odd patch of ice, the knobbly tyres grip the snow pretty well and the extra drag is resitance training, just what we need at this time of year.
The two Kevs are talking about a ride Sunday, so if you fancy it (and you have a mountain bike) leave a comment and they’ll tell you where to meet. Thanks for a brilliant ride – see you all at the Velodrome Thursday then Gisburn on Saturday.
Kev and I (Kev) are going to repeat the experience tomorrow – Sunday. If you are interested meet at the blue bridge on the A556 in Hartford/Davenham at 10.00 (by entrance to the road up to the old Abbey/Golf course)
It was a great experience today. As this size of snowfall is rare, the chance to ride in it is not to be missed. Forecast is for snow tomorrow which should make it interesting. Give the Turbo a rest and get on those Knobblies…
thanks kevs, great ride out in the snow on sunday & nice to bring your bike back cleaner than when you took it out!
