A beautiful and a lovely cycle ride… (excuse my French).

Chilly, bright, a good day for a beginner’s ride, and a few beginners turned out, as well as a returning beginner and a young lady called Shelagh, who made a welcome return to the Sunday run to brighten the day further.

We headed out through the Cheshire lanes in bright, crisp conditions, but sped up for a while, as sneaky teacher Simon upped the pace following his down-played sneaky Saturday training sessions (eyes on this year’s Guardian Cup methinks).

It was a great route out on familiar and drying roads which felt like spring with skylarks singing above the fields.

Before we knew it we’d hit Tatton Park, and whizzed through in bright sunshine to the cafe.

The usual cake banter kicked off, and we ordered, guzzled and drank for the allotted time before ‘two minutes’ was bellowed from the lips of Navigator Al, and we were off.

Another nice WVCC run, and we hope to see our beginners (and not quite beginners) again!

We hope to now run a ride like this on the 2nd Sunday in the month, so look out on the calendar for details as they are published.

We cycle. We eat cake. We drink tea (or in Simon’s case, at least two large cups of Cappucino).
