Lots of riders turned up for this one. I don’t know if it was due to Nicks PR recently but we had quite a few new riders, plus returnees. With the racing season drawing to a close as well, Alan Kemp, fresh from his success at the LVRCC Nationals, was also there. What a remarkable season he has had!! Two groups left Hartford, but the destination was the same, Two Mills. The pace was brisk and the banter good. Not much else to report on the way out apart from the hazard patches of newly surfaced roads around the Christleton area created. Both groups arrived at Two Mills at the same time – almost, and we were joined by even more Weavers. The return journey proved slightly more eventful on the Chester Cycleway. Alan’s cassette came loose and jammed in the rear forks, Max had a seatpost failure which gave us the opportunity to divert to the Bike Factory. Sad to report they could not help out, at which point Max went off to see if he could find a man who could. Finally, Graham had an altercation with a Tesco carrier bag which decided it was going to wrap itself around his rear cassette. Then it was back through Delamere culminating with the dash for the Hatchmere sign. A ride of approx 64 miles at a good pace. There is no ride planned for next week remember. It’s the Cyclo Cross Time, and so helpers and riders required, and then its the Hill Climb on the 27.09 just to round the season off!! If any of you fancy a go at more riding on knobbly tyres, check out the BogBlog for up and coming events…..
