Reading Time: 2 minutes

First track night of 2019. A pre-season leg stretcher saw a good numbner attending (that’s short for – I didn’t count how many).

Training us this evening was our usual excellent coach Paul West, who put us all, now matter at what level of fitness, through the mill to deliver some excellent and exhausting training.

Beware this man, he will make you push and push until you beg for mercy…

Emily came all confident like, with special socks on, and Laura, despite saying that she was a bit nervous, took to the track like a pro.

Somebody…
..is all a bit confident like.

Needless to say, the usual suspects were there to wind the speed up (Jim), even in the so called ‘warm-up’.

We were then led through some hellish intervals, 3 mins full gas, 1 minute off, 2 minutes full on, 1 minute off, 1 minute full chat, 1 minute off, 30 seconds to make you beg for mercy, then rest.

Then various sessions starting with blue line individual rolling sprints (where you line up, and at the whistle blow, put the power on, leaving the line and sprint until you join the back of the line again), and other equally cruel exercises designed to get the maximum from you in a 2 hour session.

Thanks must go to Paul for his excellent coaching and to Nick for organising the sessions so smoothly for us all, and we should all appreciate this, as it isn’t an easy job to organise and co-ordinate.

One of a few images from the phone on automatic setting, hence the blur due to low shutter speed… not intended!
