Reading Time: 2 minutes

Following a wet Saturday, a hardy bunch arrived this morning hoping for better weather, it was quite mild for this time of year, with some even wearing shorts. Ady took the short run to the Mills, and we (the long Run) went to Cleopatra’s in Holt (formerly Hildegard’s).

We set off via Weaverham and Gorstage, to avoid the temporary lights around Hartford, although we I say temporary, thats in the loosest terms, as they have been there that long they feel more permanent! After a few miles of Jules and I on the front, unusually, we decided the best course of action would be to have a 5 minute rotation policy to ensure everyone got a chance to experience the block headwind! The problem was, no-one wanted to be on the front with Kris Zentek, getting his winter training in ready for his first season as Cat 1! LOL (well done Kris BTW).

We headed off through Bunbury, Peckferton & Malpas, once at Worthenbury, Mark Gavin very nearly had an off when turning a 90 degree corner, with a manhole at the critical point, amazingly, he just managed to hold it, which was fortunate as I was right behind him, Skills to pay the bills. Jules, tried to tell us the rain was coming and suggested we took the short cut to Holt, we stood our ground and carried on to Bangor-on-Dee.  Once we turned the right and started heading back, the wind was on our backs, it was great.

We arrived at the Cafe, we met by a very welcoming friendly bunch of staff, we were soon sat down, bottles of chilled water were placed on the table, Kris was itching to go and order, but he had to wait while they came and took our orders. No sooner had we order, the drinks were on the table, swiftly followed by the food, and very good it was too (5 stars for the Cafe Rating Ady please, also a photo too). Jules and Kempy gave us an insight it to there other past time when comparing plane watching websites, we were all enthralled  as you can imagine, ZZZZzzzzz!

We set of back, direct via Alford and Saighton, Waverton , and Delamere and stayed dry all day.

With me on the rider were, Jules, Kempy, Phil B, Paul G, Kris, Geoff Mullett, Mark Gavin and new guy Billy.

Just 65 miles for me, but a tough ride given the wind, nice average of 18.5mph http://labs.strava.com/flyby/viewer/#433191854,oUPSGfVV0hmcjNIZDrPSGc/F0hnjEdMZ

Thanks for the company guys.
