11 Jan Club run to Llandegla

11 Jan Club run to Llandegla

Thought I’d start a thread by creating a post, but it turns out it is on the bogblog not the Sunday runs blog – not as computer literate as I thought. Anyway, thanks to Alan and Ewart for getting us to the mountainbike centre at Llandegla through Holt, Rossett and Coedpoeth. Then back via a […]

Summertrees 3 Jan

Summertrees 3 Jan

A great turnout of 13 riders and a couple of new faces despite the freezing weather. This is the rambling route which Matthew recorded with his GPS http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Summertrees-and-Delamere. We headed off to Moulton then over the Weaver to the Whitegate way and some lanes and tracks to Little Budworth. More tracks through the woods near […]

Eureka Cafe Poem

Claire O’Brien was moved to write a poem following her recent outing with the “wrinklies” on Wednesday, well done Claire, good to have another slant on the day and nice of you to contribute to the blog. Thanks. Eureka Cafe Wearing ear-rings and bandanas, like weathered pirates, these lean coyotes with the high cadenceand relaxed, easy […]

Sunday 23rd November 2008

Sunday 23rd November 2008

On waking up to pouring rain I nearly opted out of today’s run: but I’m glad I didn’t, we had a great ride. A fairly tortuous decision-making process at the start resolved itself with Martin leading one group going to Two Mills (the planned route to Loggerheads was deemed over-ambitious given the wind and rain) […]

Long Mynd Sat 6 Dec

Long Mynd Sat 6 Dec

What a fantastic day! Clear blue skies, great tracks, good company, pub lunch, brilliant views and delicious cake. Rob Petit, Andy Beswick, Eleanor Underhill, Gareth Thomas, his friend Nick and me covered about 25 miles including the ascent of the Mynd 3 times. We took the road the 2 miles to All Stretton where we […]

Llandegla Sat 1st Nov

Llandegla Sat 1st Nov

Meet at the mountainbike centre car park at 10am. This is the best of the man made trails in the world ( well – any that I have ridden). All abilities welcome – see www.coedllandegla.com for more info and bike hire. Great cafe and a selection of routes from complete beginner to expert. Remember, off […]

Today’s run was a steady circuitous ride in Autumn sunshine, efficiently led by Richard Munro, in the absence of Richard Calder who had an argument with some tarmac after a night on the tiles with Chris Latter. Best wishes to Richard C for a speedy recovery – maybe this will finally dissuade him from his […]

Run Sunday 5th October to Connah’s Quay and Chester. A good turn out despite the fact that it had poured down all night. On arrival at the club the absence of an appointed run leader became evident. Leadership vacuums are always fun to watch – who would fill the void? Everyone avoids eye contact in […]

We are proud to announce that WVCC will be the organising club of the 2018 J-B @TLI_Cycling national RR Championship , to be held at Siddington on 12th August 2018

Advice required.
Just done a 1st proper run out in the converted TT bike. Most if the setup is OK but 2 things noticed.
1 - A real pull in the left shoulder making it very uncomfortable. Right shoulder fine. Do I widen the pad position on both pads or just the left one (making it less symmetrical)?
2 - Hamstrings are pulling when pedalling. Seat height comparable with Normal road position (No hamstring pain). Is this because it is a strange position I am not used to or saddle height?

Reminder, this weeks long ride is now to the Ponderosa. It’ll be around 85 miles with a big climb in the middle 😳. The club website still says Prees.

Short ride still to Red House Farm, Dunham.

NOW SOLD - Track bike for sale

I bought this bike 18 months ago off the Fearon’s when I first dipped my toe into track cycling. I didnt want to spend too much at the time in case I didnt get on with it, as you all know, I do get on with it, so its time to upgrade 👍🚴😃

8.5 kg total
Lightweight frame perfect for beginners and experienced riders. Very good condition. Mostly used indoors on velodrome.
Parts:
Similar to Dolan Precursor aluminium track frame (no transfers). Alpina carbon fiber forks with drill out for front break. Chrome token chainset, stem and bars. Ambrosio alloy wheels with veloflex tyres. Selle italia saddle(very small scuff). KMC hollow pin, hollow link chain. No pedals.

I am 179cm (5’10.5”) tall, so perfect for someone around the same height give or take a bit.

If you are a regular at the WVCC track night, you will be paying about £19 a time to hire a bike and shoes, so you will soon recover your money. You may also decide to get your accreditation and ride SQT’s, in which case its a no brainer.

£250
