Star struck at the track…

And who did I meet this morning at the track? No less a person than Mark Cavendish, who was hanging around with his bike in full Columbia kit in reception. He recognised me immediately and told me how impressed he was with my recent form. I told him that my family and I are his […]

31 May Sunday Llandegla & Llangollen NPS

Don’t miss this chance to see the country’s top downhillers in action. It’s MSC/Descent-Gear National Points Series Rd 2 at Llangollen on Saturday and Sunday the 30th and 31st of May 2009. In their words, round two is going to be off the Richter Scale and will go down in the history books as the […]

TLI: WVCC success

TLI: WVCC success

In the over 50s and over 60s race, Alan Kemp led a great breakaway of three off the front: they built an impressive lead of about a minute, but somehow the pack managed to whittle this down and eventually Alan and pals were swallowed up by the bunch…however despite all his hard work earlier on […]

Sunday 24th May: Dave Fearon’s manhood is threatened…

Well they say pictures speak louder than words so I’ll let the pics do the talking! Pic 1 – at Common Barn above Rainow, enjoying the sunshine and the views…12 of us made it Pic 2 – at the top of the “2 arrows plus 1 arrow” hill above Langley Reservoir… Pic 3 – Dave […]

Night Ride Sun 24 May

Night Ride Sun 24 May

Ross has kindly offered to lead us on a night ride on the local tracks and trails. Meet outside the Weaverham shops at 8pm. We’ll do the technical stuff before it’s too dark; stop for some refreshment; then head home for around midnight. 4-5 recruits so far – so come and join us and don’t […]

Superman

Superman

Claire O’Brien has sent in this wonderful poem. Thanks Claire, keep them coming… Superman Fingers flex in gloves prepare to fight, pedals fusing feet to wheeled machine, helmet arrows bike to deco flight,no brakes or gears to intervene. Like actors in the Globe once tread the boards, track cyclists, performers in their own theatre, hear the same roar of […]

Delamere 16th May

Delamere 16th May

Eleanor shows us all how to do it! Eight of us enjoyed a bright morning around the forest, topped off with a race up Pale Heights which Gareth won. I’ve been coaching him on the niceties of racing and he’s a quick learner. After tucking in behind Kevan and Jonti into the headwind, he sensed […]

Sunday 17th May

Sunday 17th May

After a long absence I finally got out on a Sunday run. The weather was not bad as I left Bunbury and cycled to Hartford with Chris Latter and I thought the summer bike and shorts was the right choice. As usual these days there was a good turnout and the long run to Chirk […]

Weds 13th May – a French Letter

Weds 13th May – a French Letter

A welcome birthday boy return for Richard Heywood: the title of this blog is his idea as he reckoned the repartee today was so good (obscure I know but that’s Richard for you!). Gary’s under 7s joke: a man goes into a bar with a newt on his shoulder, and asks for a pint for […]

TLI Lower Withington Tuesday 12th May – with video!

Thanks to Jed for the video, at the bottom of this article! After rain on week 1 and a diesel spillage on week 2 (we found out this was the result of an accident involving Alex Ferguson’s grandchildren), the only hazard tonight was a low sun and a strong wind – but no complaints, it […]

Sunday 10th May to Two Mills

Sunday 10th May to Two Mills

From Gary’s under 7s joke book: I rang NHS advice yesterday because the guy in the desk next to me at work had just come back from Mexico, and I was worried about swine flu – but all I got on the line was crackling. As for my colleague, he’s come out in rashers. For […]

We are proud to announce that WVCC will be the organising club of the 2018 J-B @TLI_Cycling national RR Championship , to be held at Siddington on 12th August 2018

Advice required.
Just done a 1st proper run out in the converted TT bike. Most if the setup is OK but 2 things noticed.
1 - A real pull in the left shoulder making it very uncomfortable. Right shoulder fine. Do I widen the pad position on both pads or just the left one (making it less symmetrical)?
2 - Hamstrings are pulling when pedalling. Seat height comparable with Normal road position (No hamstring pain). Is this because it is a strange position I am not used to or saddle height?

NOW SOLD - Track bike for sale

I bought this bike 18 months ago off the Fearon’s when I first dipped my toe into track cycling. I didnt want to spend too much at the time in case I didnt get on with it, as you all know, I do get on with it, so its time to upgrade 👍🚴😃

8.5 kg total
Lightweight frame perfect for beginners and experienced riders. Very good condition. Mostly used indoors on velodrome.
Parts:
Similar to Dolan Precursor aluminium track frame (no transfers). Alpina carbon fiber forks with drill out for front break. Chrome token chainset, stem and bars. Ambrosio alloy wheels with veloflex tyres. Selle italia saddle(very small scuff). KMC hollow pin, hollow link chain. No pedals.

I am 179cm (5’10.5”) tall, so perfect for someone around the same height give or take a bit.

If you are a regular at the WVCC track night, you will be paying about £19 a time to hire a bike and shoes, so you will soon recover your money. You may also decide to get your accreditation and ride SQT’s, in which case its a no brainer.

£250
