Guardian Cup and Scratch 10s results after 6 rounds

More controversial than Peter Sagan’s elbow, there have had to be some adjustments to the overall and cumulative points standings due to an error in recording the PBs from last year.

Fortunately, I’m not going to be thrown off the tour, and the results have been corrected.

Fewer riders were out last week, and therefore everyone came out with winning points, with Alison Morton gaining maximum points for the week.

The Guardian Cup points are below, and with corrected results, we now have joint leaders with Steve Marlow and Paul Connor, and Anthony Booth in 3rd place. Obviously, as can be seen, there is no round 5 (not a mistake) as there was no club 10 for that week due to road works.

Also, below, is the points tally for the trophy for the cumulative points gained over 7 events out of 10 for the fastest time recorded each week. A simple formula, if you get the fastest time, you gain 25 points. Steve Marlow has gained the most points thus far this year. The more events you enter, the better chance you have of winning, so come and have a go!

Round 7 tonight – don’t miss it!

We are proud to announce that WVCC will be the organising club of the 2018 J-B @TLI_Cycling national RR Championship , to be held at Siddington on 12th August 2018

Advice required.
Just done a 1st proper run out in the converted TT bike. Most if the setup is OK but 2 things noticed.
1 - A real pull in the left shoulder making it very uncomfortable. Right shoulder fine. Do I widen the pad position on both pads or just the left one (making it less symmetrical)?
2 - Hamstrings are pulling when pedalling. Seat height comparable with Normal road position (No hamstring pain). Is this because it is a strange position I am not used to or saddle height?

Reminder, this weeks long ride is now to the Ponderosa. It’ll be around 85 miles with a big climb in the middle 😳. The club website still says Prees.

Short ride still to Red House Farm, Dunham.

NOW SOLD - Track bike for sale

I bought this bike 18 months ago off the Fearon’s when I first dipped my toe into track cycling. I didnt want to spend too much at the time in case I didnt get on with it, as you all know, I do get on with it, so its time to upgrade 👍🚴😃

8.5 kg total
Lightweight frame perfect for beginners and experienced riders. Very good condition. Mostly used indoors on velodrome.
Similar to Dolan Precursor aluminium track frame (no transfers). Alpina carbon fiber forks with drill out for front break. Chrome token chainset, stem and bars. Ambrosio alloy wheels with veloflex tyres. Selle italia saddle(very small scuff). KMC hollow pin, hollow link chain. No pedals.

I am 179cm (5’10.5”) tall, so perfect for someone around the same height give or take a bit.

If you are a regular at the WVCC track night, you will be paying about £19 a time to hire a bike and shoes, so you will soon recover your money. You may also decide to get your accreditation and ride SQT’s, in which case its a no brainer.
