A new area for us to visit about 1.5 hrs drive away. Fantastic purpose built red and blue graded trails.
We have had good reports about this place and there are plenty of other tracks to tackle, if we get bored, across the Trough of Bowland. See http://explore.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/os_routes/show/9918
Meet 10am at Cocklet Hill Car Park OS SD745550. The following link gives directions and tells you much more (and supplied the picture above)http://www.forestry.gov.uk/website/recreation.nsf/LUWebDocsByKey/EnglandLancashireNoForestGisburnCockletHillCarPark
I for one am looking forward to “dancing with my bike”.
Bring food and drink in case the cafe is closed. Matthew and I are travelling together. Keep an eye on the forecast and come back here later in the week to check that we are still going.
I am planning on going on Saturday, I could do with another person to share the fuel bill with if anyone wants a lift or someone to pay petrol if you are driving. I can take one person as have changed my car. Any takers.
Derek
The trails have been closed with the snow, but the thaw may make them ridable by Staurday. If the road to the carpark is too bad meet at Stephen Moor or Slaidburn, there's a "killer loop" of 18miles from Slaidburn, so bring waterproof/spare clothing etc. in case we do this instead as it goes over some remote country.
Andy, have you got hold of the van for Saturday? If so how many can you fit in?
sorry kev, I'll be going alone as I may not be going back to northwich, hook up with derek and I'll see you there
Kevin/Derek please can you give me a ring, either 01606 46709 or 07824597137 – so we can sort something out, thanks – Kev's stuck in Leeds tonight so I'm on my own tomorrow morning so could either drive or cadge a lift – thanks
Forecast isn't too bad for the daytime, so Matthew and I will be there.
