A TT report by Emily….

Due to a few other time trials going on at the weekend, there was a very low Weaver Valley contingent in the East Lancs 25 mile TT round the J2/9 on Saturday. The rain was predicted to finish at 2pm, which would have been perfect for the start time; however in typical British summertime fashion many rode to the start whilst getting a soaking from the sudden downpour. Luckily the course was dry thereafter though windy in sections.
Colin was off first in his shiny new skinsuit and he put in a great time of 01:04:28, despite having to stop for cows crossing on Twemlow Lane. I went off next on my lovely new bike, only to realise within a few minutes that picking a bike up 30mins before leaving for a TT and making no adjustments bar saddle height makes for a difficult ride! I rode a 01:08:25 and managed to come 3rd out of the women, so my £24 prize will at least help pay for one of the spokes.
Due to the big time gaps between us we didn’t see much of each other as Stu, Neil and Chris were later on, so there wasn’t much chatting and cake to be had afterwards, however the results for everyone are below…

Chris Gilbertson – 01:01:33
Stu Ward – 01:02:57 (I thought you were looking good when you came past after I’d finished!)
Colin Carthy – 01:04:28
Emily Martin – 01:08:25
Neil Drummond – 01:13:40

Men’s winner was Adam Duggleby of Secret Training CC with a crikey 51:55!
Ladies’ winner was Claire Harrison of Vision Racing with a 1:03:34

Well done everyone!
